Trying to find Williams

(for those of you I have already asked - I apologise!) My grandad's best friend in the army (1939-1946) was 'Taffy' Williams (not sure what his first name was but was known as Taffy). 'Taffy' lived (not necessarily born) at Mountain Ash in Wales. My grandad was in the 18th Light Anti-Aircraft, Royal Artillery regiment - not sure if 'Taffy' was in the same one. Unfortunately, Taffy had an accident in about 1943 when he was in his lorry in Italy (Apennine? mountains). The lorry went over the edge and Taffy was killed. At the time of his death, grandad thinks that Taffy was 27 or 28 years old. He also had a daughter aged about three and a half. I think Taffy was a Coalminer/Shotfirer. I would really like to find some information on Taffy for my grandad as I am visiting him in a fortnight for his 90th birthday in Ireland - He doesn't know that though!!! Any help would be appreciated!! Donna
