I am trying to trace my Great Grandfather Arthur Edward Derrick born about 1872 in Barnet? Hertfordshire. He married Florence Gertrude Rebecca Smith on 26 March 1893 in Bredhurst in Kent. Florence used the surname of Brandon when she married Arthur and I can find no reason for this. They lived in Kent and had 9 children of which 5 survived to adulthood. Arthur was last known to be living in Kent at Upper Luton Road, Chatham in 1908. He was employed in the cement works as a labourer. His wife came to Scotland around 1914/1915 with their surviving 5 children and died in Fife in 1952. I have not been able to trace Arthur to Scotland and on his daughter's death certificate dated 1920 it has her father as deceased. Any information on Arthur would be appreciated. |
