Trying to find Hinton

I just KNOW that one of you have the answer to this puzzle. George HENTON/HINTON came to Pennsylvania about 1717 and either brought his wife, Persis Boone with him or married her after his arrival. Many of the IGI and Ancestry.com databases (information to these databases are submitted by ‘patrons’ or ’subscribers’ rather than taken from actual church records or documented sources) show that the parents of George A. Henton (our Immigrant) were William and Elizabeth (Boeve) Henton. The IGI also shows many birth, marriage and death dates for George Henton Sr. Most entries show George as the son of William and Elizabeth (Boeve) Hinton who was the son of William and Mary (Popham) Hinton, mentioned above. This William was the son of Sir Thomas Hinton and either his wife Catherine Palmer or his third wife, Mrs. Mary Harvey. Reports vary. I found the wide variance of dates shown in the IGI and in Ancestry.com for our immigrant ancestor, George Henton, to be confusing since they cover many years with differing birth, marriage and death dates of the same people, mainly William Hinton and Elizabeth Boeve Hinton. Also noted above, William is shown in most genealogies as being born in 1639 and the son of Sir Thomas Hinton who died in 1635. Hmmmm - AND Elizabeth Boeve must have been quite a remarkable woman indeed to have been married in the 1620s (first marriage date shown) and to have given birth to a child in 1680. Long pregnancy? Not only that, her husband, William is shown to have died at least 15 years prior to George’s birth. I withhold judgment at this point until I have more definite information. So since no one has adequately found the birth date and parents of George Henton/Hinton, I am hoping someone with more knowledge than I have can help here. Descendants of George Sr. HENTON/HINTON Generation No. 1 1. GEORGE SR.4 HENTON (WILLIAM3 HINTON, GEORGE2, SIR JAMES1) was born Abt. 1680 in , England, and died 19 November 1747 in Oley, Berkshire Co., PA. He married PERSIS BOONE Abt. 1717 in England or Pennsylvania, daughter of GEORGE BOONE and SARAH UPPEY. She was born Abt. 1695 in Stoke Canon, Devonshire, England, and died in Berkshire County, Pennsylvania. Children of GEORGE HENTON and PERSIS BOONE are: i. HANNAH5 HENTON, b. 1717; d. presumed she died early. ii. WILLIAM HENTON, b. 1718; d. 1786, Rockingham, Virginia; m. MARY JONES. iii. CATHERINE HENTON, b. 1719; d. 1804, Rockingham, Virginia; m. MICHAEL WARREN, Abt. 1745, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; b. 1711, Oyster Bay, Queens, Long Island, New York; d. 24 February 1795, Rockingham, Virginia. iv. THOMAS HENTON, b. 1720, Exeter, Berkshire County, Pennysylvania; d. 1796, Forestville or Rockingham, Shenandoah County, VA; m. ANN YARNALL, March 1746/47, Willistown, Chester County, Pennsylvania; b. 11 September 1721, Willistown, Chester County, Pennsylvania or Goshen, Chester County, Pennsylvania; d. June 1805, Forestville, Shenandoah County, VA. v. PERSIS HENTON, b. 1721, Berks County, Pennsylvania; d. Shelby County, Kentucky. Thank you one and all. Margie Hinton
