Trying to find Garwood

BENJAMIN WILLIAM GARWOOD, D.O.B 1844, Mile End, Colchester, Essex, England. This chap is last seen on the 1871 census when he was married to Ellenor Allston (married in 1870). They had at least two children I know of, Herbert Benjamin Garwood d.o.b. 8th July 1876 and May Garwood d.o.b 20th May 1883. Ellen died on 15th September 1886 in Water Lane, Lexden, Essex. I have spent many whole day's seaching for this lot in the Census collection but am unable to locate them besides May who went to live with her uncle. She went on to marry Harold Hyam in 1907. I think Herbert Benjamin Garwood also married in 1907 but am waiting for the marriage cert to arrive. Benjamin Garwood married again in 1891 to Kate Rosa Leaver. Between them they had one son I know of, Sydney Thomas Garwood (my grandfather) d.o.b 25th April 1896 at 26 Bergholt Road, Colchester. Does this lot of Garwood's ring any bells with anyone? Can anyone shed any light on the reasons why I cannot find them on the census records. It doesn't seem possible that they would register births and deaths and not bother complying with the census (or am I just being thick here!). Any granule of help or info or a wink in the right direction would be gratefully received! Kind regards to all who care to read. Nikki A big huge 'Thank You' to those who emailed me with info. Thanks to you I found another five gr gr aunts and uncles!
