Trying to find Crompton

Firstly thanks to those who helped me reach back to the cromptons through their advice on the Catterall family. I have an Alice Crompton who married a William Catterall on 16th dec 1848. i dont know her dob as she is listed as full age ( 21 or over), i bont know for sure where she was born. She is registered as a spinster so not previously married, resided in Halliwell,Bolton at the time of marriage and her father was a Richard Crompton.( weaver) My trail ends here. The freebmd sites births only register from 1837. I have found An Allice Crompton with Richard as a father on the 1841 census, this ages her at 13 dob approx 1828 which ties in with being 21 or over at time of marriage ( just about) I also have an Alice Crompton on the 1841 with dad Richard at 15 years old dob approx 1826 which again ties in with age at marriage. I cannot make out Richards profession on the census scan. i have been on the igi and cannot find an Alice Crompton with a richard as the father for a birth/christening. I cant get Alice's birth certificate as i have 2 possibilitys for her being born in Bolton with a dad called Richard. Its possible she wasnt even born in Bolton anyway- and also possible that on the 1841 census she may not have been living with her parents anyway as she was old enough to be working in service somewhere else or couldve been living with relatives/boarding etc. Ive tried spelling Crompton/crumpton alice/allice. Im really stuck on this one guys n gals! When Alice married William Catterall i cant find them on the 1851 census despite various spellings of the names. i have them on the 1861 census and even though the dobs are a little different ive got the certificates back to then so im sure its correct. On the 1861 census their children are margaret 10, Peter 5, and Lilly 2. i cant find the family on the 1871 census. again- trying different spellings. I wondered if one of them had died and the other remarried- so i searched for the whereabouts of the kids. ( i have margarets as i researched back through her), Lilly and peter shouldve been on the 1871 census but i cannot find them at all, with anyone. its like the family just 'dissapeared on me!) Ive tried everything i can think of but im just stuck. Any suggestions oh wise ones? Thanks, Nicola x UPDATE- Found the catteralls on 1871 census spelt catteral. Im noe inclined to believe that alice crompton was born in bolton as it says so on the 61/71 census. ( still could be wrong though and still 2 possible alices i could follow)
