Trying to find Brook

I am trying to find John Brook, he was born in Elland, Halifax he was born around 1797 and died at the age of 88 in Putney, London. he took the kings shilling and was conscripted into the army when he was a teenager at Elland Mill. His niece Alice, whom he brought up notified the authorities of his death. he was my gt gt gt uncle. he had an exemplary army career and rose to the highest rank that an uncommisoned soldier could achieve, i.e. quatermaster sargent. I think his mother was called Alice but I cannot find any trace of his father. if you think you could help then i would love to hear from you. |
