Hi Jessie
The Cromars are a line that my ancestors married into when Alexis McDougall married David Cromar who had been a childhood neighbour of hers in Aboyne Aberdeen. Her father was Supervisoe of Excise at Charlestown and David's father George was the village Postmaster and also a shoemaker. I would be inetersted in anything you may be able to tell me about the Cromars or the McDougalls in Aboyne. I have traced the descendants of Alexis and David through the generations to Ontario and Amersica where some of her children emigrated to. Sorry for the delay in replying - I didn't get a message saying you had posted.

Hello Diane, I have been looking at my Cromar history. The surname originates in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Seeing as how I live in Aberdeen lass, do you want me to find out any information for you? Jessie.

Hello trying to find info on Helen Cromar born illigitimate 8 may 1881 in aberdeen.Her mother Maria Matilda Cromar was born 21 march 1865,tarland and migvie,aberdeen on her birth cert is only her mums name so maybe she was born out of wedlock to.christina cromar being the mums name.I know Maria was working as a domestic servant when she fell pregnant but dont know where.Helens education was paid for we dont know by who maybe from the big house where her mum had worked.if you can help would be truely grateful.thankyou Diane.
