Hi Have come up against a brick wall in search for PHIPPS. When Thomas Phipps junior and his sister Jane Potter nee Phipps left for Australia 1852 they left behind parents Thomas and Sarah in Surrey, also brother Stephen who never married. They lived in Brixton, SRY. In the 1851 census Thomas senior gave his birthplace as a place name which looks like Longbundle, BKS or BRK(Buckinghamshire or Berkshire. I have scoured all over England and haven't found a family or place that fits with him.His wife Sarah may have been Sarah JOHNSTON or HUNT. Thomas was said to be a soldier but this has not turned up a definite either. Contact with any PHIPPS who even remotely have any of these facts in them would be great. Thomas junior married Harriet RALPH and Jane married John POTTER at St LUkes Norwood, Surrey. Coralie |
