Looking to find any McCartheys' with a connection to Falmouth area of Cornwall. My great grandmother Ethel Jane McCarthey was born in the area circa 1890, believe she had a brother called Arthur who ran a fish and chip shop named 'Arthurs' in the locality. Her father was Thomas McCarthey and possibly mother first name of Ada. I have obtained marriage cert for Ethel and there is a name of witness Edgar McCarthey but unknown how related. Believe there may be some connection to Ireland but unknown dates/where from. Any information on any of the above will be greatly received! Many thanks, Darren Clarkson |
