Trying to find Corbet

Vincent Report 15 Jun 2007 16:27

Has anyone a link between the Corbet family and the Jones family in the 19th century of Burslem, Staffs and in the 20th of the Chirk and Ellesmere areas. My great grandfather was Vincent Jones and named my great uncle Corbet Jones. Vincent - a long established Corbet family name as crows or ravens (as in the Corbet family crest) protected the relics of St Vincent the Deacon - has now passed into the Gibbons family. I think there is a link with the reality of the mythical 'carrying on with the coachman' Corbet famliy story and possibly Newton. Any help would be appreciated.
