JESSIE MATTHEWS - 1907-1981 I am trying to find out the names of the parents of Jessie Matthews, the legendary star of stage, screen and radio - best known laterly for the radio show 'Mrs Dale's Diary'. When I was a child my grandmother told me that Jessie Matthews was her cousin; my mother confirms this. Recently I have been passed a copy of a signed photo of Jessie Matthews which my great grandmother had in a frame in her home. There is a lot of oral family history surrounding my family connection, particularly from 2 great uncles, now in their 90's, but I would like to prove the link by buying certificates. If anyone knows who Jessie's parents were, or has any info/suggestions to help me on my way, I would be very pleased to hear from you. Trina |
