Trying to find details about my Grandfather THOMAS CURRIE OR CURRY, he was a professional soldier and likely to have served in the Great War.I have one Photograph of him being married to my Grandmother whilst in uniform, I have always been told he was a member of the Irish Guards but upon the examination of the photo the nearest match I can get to his cap badge is THE KING'S OWN (ROYAL LANCASTER REGIMENT).The photograph is approx.1920 he had three overseas service stripes on his sleeve (3 years) also on the other sleeve Chevrons denoting 5 years service without being disciplined . Unfortunately THOMAS CURRIE entered a bigamous marriage with my Grandmother, he was convicted and jailed dying in Prison (Or so I was told)
