My name is Santina Crolla,I'm trying to find the name of my grandad Crolla.he was father to Bernard (OND/1923 --->dd/mm/yy), Vincenzo (JFM/1925 --->21/04/1969) Anthony(my dad) (22/02/1927 --->12/06/1971), Michael (08/10/1930 --->dd/04/2004) Nancy (dd/mm/1929 --->dd/mm/yy). They used to live on Gun Street in Ancoats Manchester. My grandad Crolla was possibly not married to my grandma Eugenia Panetta(died 08/07/1972 aged 79),not even sure if Panetta was her previous married name or maiden.Eugenia Panetta also had children previous to my grandad Crolla called Lui,Mary&Rose Panetta from what I know there could poss be others. If anybody knows of my grandad Crolla who is not in the family grave...knows his christian name or any of the Panetta's...knows of my dad Anthony Crolla(who died in 1971 aged 44) or my uncle Bernard Crolla DOB 1923 he was not in the family grave,or have any info about my Aunty Nancy(Annunziata) DOB 1929 was also not in the family grave, knows anything about the Crolla family living on Gun Street in Ancoats Manchester,or anything that might help my search in general, could you please get in touch Much appreciated, thankyou. I now have an update to this message,I have found out my grandads name from something at home&it was Bernard Crolla born 1886,this makes sense as Italians usually name the oldest son after themselves so I had a hunch on Bernard anyway. He grew up at 41 Cotton Street,father-Anthony Crolla,mother-Margaret(?)&half sister Carmel(Carmanella/Maria Carmanella)Crolla,Theresa Crolla,Philinina Crolla&Joseph Crolla. They then moved to George street, where Bernard&Joseph became bakers/bread makers&father Anthony was a confectioner/shopkeeper. People on this site have been amazing a big THANKYOU to everyone for helping me trace my grandmother Eugenia Panetta whom I now have the maiden name for which is Eugenia Coletta(she also has a brother called Luigi),I now also have Birth indexes for her Panetta husband& children before my grandad Bernard Crolla. The next thing I need to find out is who was my Great Grandad Anthony(aka Antonio) Crolla born Italy 1857 &married to Margaret at 41 Cotton Street related to?...who was his mother&father?... the Crolla's living in 3 seperate accomadations on Gun street at the same time in 1890-1901,were these his brothers? ..is he related to any of the Scottish Crolla's in any way other than his daughter Maria Carmel who married into the DeMarco family? ..I'm kind of at a dead end with the 'Crolla Line' as there were so many Anthonys.Any help even if it's not directly connected to Anthony&Margaret Crolla would be very much appreciated, thankyou ;-) Santina Crolla. PS.Still trying to find other siblings/parents of Eugenia Coletta&also now Margaret married to Anthony Crolla 41 Cotton st Ancoats Manchester, any info please contact me. [email protected]
