Trying to locate Kate Paine born on 31 Dec 1899 (The last day of the century) the daughter of Flora Kathleen Paine, a single parent. Flora Kathleen Paine - my grandmother married my grandfather, Herbert Parsley in 1904 but she stated she was a widow, and gave her name as Flora Russell. I think that she was not a widow as no marriage certificate has been located and a ploy to cover her child. I know she had a child - Kathleen Emily Paine at Brighton but the mother, Flora Paine is in the 1901 census as U/M and alone in Newington London and Kate or Kathleen has never been found in the 1901 census. She does appear in the 1911 census living in Acton with her mother and Step father but she has taken on her mothers married name and is now Kathleen Parsley . Any info would be welcome. By 1920 her mother is dead and she disappears. |
