Hi I am trying to find a William and or Robert Peters, who lived at 313 Newfoundland Road, Bristol from around 1918. They may possibly be relatives of my grandmother Dorothy Butler and her sister Lily. (The two girls were in an orphanage in Billinge in Lancashire) William signed the girls out, first Lily in December 1918 aged about 10/11 years then Dorothy 23rd February 1927 aged about 16 years. Apparently Lily died very young. The girls parents were Charlotte and Henry Butler - both died in 1917, hence the orphanage. Charlotte may well have been a Peters before being with Henry. Dorothy is dark skinned and her father henry was too - I have no proof what race the others were but believe they were also known to have been American Negro. (This term was used on Henry Butlers death certifiacte - 1917)
