Find Ancestors

I am looking for a Joseph James Clifford born 19-8-1897 at 20 Hartley Street, Bethnal Green, London, through certificates I have his fathers name Joseph James Clifford also and his mother Elizabeth Agass, all I know is the address where Joe Junior was born was the parents address at the time of his birth. Joe Junior is my Great Aunts Dad but all she knows is he came home from the army with a friend and ended up marrying the friends sister Annie Maria Wing in 1923 in West Ham. He never spoke of his family and told that they had died in the war, although we cannot find records to prove this. We know nothing of any brothers or sisters but are guessing he was not an only child. Something my aunt does remember is her mum finding a notice in the newspaper asking for a Joseph Clifford to get in touch with family who had moved to Australia, however he was not interested in pursuing this.
