Trying to find Mollett Murphy

My great-great grandfather, born in Chelsea, London at the close of the 18th Century, was named MICHAEL MURPHY. It's believed he married a lady called MARY ANN POTTS, and they had several children, many of whom died in infancy. For some mysterious reason, as yet unfathomed, their descendants became known by the double-barrelled surname MOLLETT MURPHY. Legend has it that this extra name was added for legal reasons regarding claims to land in Norfolk. Three of the surving offspring of Michael and Mary, were: GEORGE MOLLETT MURPHY (who became a famous Victorian preacher), and his sisters - ANN and ELIZABETH (the latter becoming my great-grandmother). If anyone interested in the MOLLETT folks of Norfolk or East Anglian origin, happens to recognize the above description ... I would be most grateful for any information you can add to the strange mix-up of names. Regards, Yvonne Garry (nee Grant)
