Trying to find Brown

Trying to find JAMES BROWN. He was a house painter, born circa 1860, probably LANARKSHIRE, Scotland. His parents were JOHN BROWN and JANE BELL, and they would have been born before 1842, place unknown. James married ELIZABETH STEVENSON, 16/7/1886, CARFIN, LANARKSHIRE. he was 26 years of age at that date. A witness at his wedding was DANIEL CLELLAND, MAIN STREET, NEWARTHILL, LANARKSHIRE. ELIZABETH STEVENSON died 21/3/1895, FAIRLEY PLACE, MAIN STREET, UDDINGSTON, LANARKSHIRE. Shortly afterwards, JAMES left the district, and nothing more is known of him. His two children, MARGARET OGILVY BROWN, born 7/8/1887, 2 Rosslyn Place, Uddingston, and ALEXANDER STEVENSON BROWN, born 16/3/1895, Fairley Place, Main Street, Uddingston were brought up by relatives. MARGARET is believed to have gone to USA while still young, and died unmarried. ALEXANDER'S movements have been documented from that date. He was my wife's father. I am extremely anxious to discover what happened to JAMES. Did he have any siblings? Did he remain in the UK ? Did he remarry, and if so, did he have a further family ? Any information on James's parents, John Brown and Jane Bell? Tracing a BROWN can be likened to finding a needle in a thousand haystacks, ( first name James does nothing to help!), and years of enquiry have resulted in absolute zilch. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, can anyone out there help, any item no matter how small ! Many thanks.
