thanks again,
Inis, the first one looks promising, but only because my husband name has a John Francis and Patrick, and his grandfather John married Margaret and we were told he was an only child, but there is a lot of secrecy so we are not sure of his age or family background Where do I go from here? I have no idea

thank you for the reply, but I dont know anymore about the family in Ireland and we are told that they were both only children and there seems to be a lot of secrecy about their lives in Ireland, I willl try and get to Ireland in the new year and look up the records office,

Hi
My Byrne is Michael from Co Matyo, he married a McGeever whose family originate from Meelick Co Mayo. I had a surreal experience with a Byrne (long but strange story) in a graveyard in Co Mayo and he was a stonemason from Swinford. After looking into my eyes he assured me i was not one of 'his' Byrnes but most probably the Roscommon Byrnes and suggested I go to talk to someone called Mr Sneep who unfortunately had died 6 weeks earlier at the age of 98!!

Dear Annette~~~
Good Evening to You from ARIZONA, USA!!! I do hope that You & Yours are well this day.

I respond to Your inquiry because Your mention of Michael Byrne & also, County Mayo.

My Great-Great Grandmother's name was Bridget Byrne (father Michael(?)/Mother/Unknown). I understand that She was born abt 1846 in County Mayo(?) She married John Fox & gave birth to my Great-Grandmother, MaryJosephine Fox in 1871(?). I have seen mention of Govan, Lanarkshire (?)

I wonder if John Byrne may have been a nephew (?) or other.

Suffice it to say, I will appreciate Your consideration of my inquiry as we both continue to 'nurture' the Family Tree.

Thank You...in advance for Your assistance & insight.

Whispering...Curiously
