Val Report 23 May 2007 15:21

JOHN PHILLIPS Born Callington, Cornwall approx 1813. On 1861 Census he is in Lambeth, London with his family: Wife Ann aged 30 John agen 10 Catherine Louisa (my gg g/m) aged 8 Charles August (as transcribed on census) aged 6 Edwin Alfred aged 2 Jessee aged 3 months. I cannot find that any of the children were registered although they state they were born at St. Margarets, Middlesex. In family tales Catherine was said to have been born in Jersey. On other census' she was born in Pimlico and Haggerstone. John Phillips is said to have help design and build the London sewerage system with William Bazzelgette. Does this ring any bells with anyone? I would like to know what Anne's maiden name was. Was it Groome? Also details of the rest of the family. Thanks
