Hi Looking to find info on my great grandmother Isobella McNeish/McNish brothers and sisters Isobella was born 1849 in County Antrim Northern Ireland her parents were John Mcneish/McNish and Martha Ray/Rea . The family settle in Lanarkshire . Isobella married James Scott in Hamilton Lanark the 1860s Isobella died in Dundee in 1891 From the infromation i have managed to peice together Isobella had at least 2 sisters who were born in Glasgow Lanark they were Martha born 1862 she married John Whyte in Dundee Angus Scotland and remarried again after being widowed to Robert Bell in lanark . Martha died in Carluke Lanark on the 24 April 1938. And Jane born 17th May 1870 she married a James Maxwell in Lanark . She also died in Lanark Going by the gap in years between all three there must have more childern either born in Co Antrim Northern Ireland or Lanarkshire I have hit a brick wall . The Surname McNish have lots of changes from McNeish to MacNish etc so this doesn't help Does any of the above mean anything anyone ? I would be greatfull for any infromation on matter how small .Thank for taking the time to read this regards margaret |
