I am keen to pursue recently-discovered family links with the SHERWOOD family of Highmoor Cross, near Henley-on-Thames, in Oxfordshire.My cousin, JOHN GREEN, of the long -established Highmoor GREEN family,was the grandson of KATE SHERWOOD , b.1854 in Highmoor, she being the daughter of WILLIAM SHERWOOD, of Highmoor, b. circa 1824 ( We think !! ). There is, apparently ,an old family Bible, in which the name is spelled ' SHEARWOOD ', with a London address. Other names within the parameters are :- Mills, Tudor, Baldwin & Wise, being from Henley/ Highmoor/ Bix/ Rotherfield Greys. Thanking you all in anticipation, best wishes, Roger Mills... |
