Trying to find Carey

My name is Sandra Carey, born in Manchester in 1953. I am looking for my father, if he is still alive, or just as important any relatives of his. I never met him and before my mother Sylvia Prophet passed away she told me that she would tell me about him when I turned 16. Unfortunately she died before this time. My fathers name was John Cornelius Carey. My step grandmother told me that he had been in the army and was a chef at a zoo in Manchester. Apparently he was from Ireland and commited suicide??? I have now purchased my mother and father's marriage certificate which tells me that they were married on the 15/10/49. At the time of marriage John was 19, which would mean he was born in 1930. His fathers name was Cornelius Carey and one of the witnesses on the certificate was a Mary Carey. This could have been his mother or sister. As a profession it says 'Army' for my father. I can't quite make out the address for him at the time of marriage but it looks something like 61 Telford. They were married in The Parish Church, St. Aidan, Bradford, Manchester. This is all the information I have and I would appreciate any help even if it turns out to be wrong. There is one thing I do have however and that is a photograph of him, either when I was a baby or before I was born.
