Hello Michele,

For a Kent connection there are Meads in the Canterbury area.

Unable to help with full names or other info but would be worth checking.

Kent Family History Society are very helpful. They have branches all over Kent; this is the Canterbury Branch: http://www.canterburykfhs.co.uk/

Well worth a look up!

Regards.

I am trying to find any information relating to my Grandfather William Mead, Born 1916, son of WILLIAM & ELLEN MEAD (NEE RICHARDS). I think he came from Bermondsey (S.E. LONDON) and also had links to the Lambeth area (S.E. LONDON). He had a sister who was possibly older and lives or lived in the Kent area (name unknown) . Also a younger brother named Edward Mead. Born in 1921. Edward was an able seaman who served on board H.M.S. VORTIGERN in WW2. Sadly Edward lost his life on 15/03/42, when his ship was hit by a torpedo. Edward was buried with honours at Portsmouth aged just 21 years. My Grandfather also lived in the Maidstone area of Kent in the 60's & 70's and drove a Maidstone bus, where people may have known him by the name of John. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!
