Hello, we are trying to find any information available relating to a WILLIAM CHARLES LITTLE born in Bath, Somerset in 1884. He was probably born at an estate called South Stoke, where his father is known to have worked at about that time as a gardener. William Charles's father was ALDUM COMELY LITTLE, born in Chipping Sodbury in 1855, who often used the first name INKERMAN (in memory of a battle in the Crimean War). His mother was MARY MATILDA , daughter of SAMUEL LONG, and was born in 1857 in Bitton, Gloucestershire where Samuel worked as a tiler. Besides William Charles this couple had one older son, EDWARD LITTLE born on July 18th 1882 at South Stoke, who became a Gardens Superintendant in Poona (Pune), British India. Edward Little died in Poona in 1938 having, by then, lost touch all with his English relations. We have succeeded in tracing some of them, but Edward's brother William Charles has so far eluded us completely. If anybody knows what became of him, we should love to hear. So far, we know the following things about William Charles Little:- 1)He spent part of his childhood in a village called Llandadoc in Monmouthshire. 2)From age 16 (or earlier) his address was 70, St John's Road, Islington, where he was still living in January 1918 when he registered the death of his father in Whitechapel Hospital. 3) ,Later he married and lived in Kenton, Harrow. 4) He had two sons, one of whom was called Edward. At the age of 16, William Charles Little was working for a plumber. We have no idea what he did after that and any information would be much appreciated by us, the Little family, in Glasgow. Thank you.
