Trying to find Griffin

Trying to find the family of my grandfather, William Griffin. Born sometime in the 1860-70s probably in England, died 1912. Married to Anna Larter and had five children: Anna, William, Edward, Nora and Leslie. His father was probably also a William Griffin. William was at one time a master confectioner but was a potman at his death. After his death, the children were split up into orphanages and had little information about his background. He apparently had at least two schoolteacher sisters who lived in Clapham Common, but I don't know their names. I have tried unsuccessfully to find him in various censuses, but there are an awful lot of Griffins out there. Any info gratefully received. Fran
