Looking for Gordon/Shirrefs information James Francis Shirrefs Gordon was the laird of Craig Castle at Auchindoir, Aberdeenshire, he married Barbara Shirrefs or Smith. They had 8 sons and 7 daughters, one of the sons John was my husbands great great grandfather and this is the line we are tracing at the moment. John Lumsden Shirrefs Gordon also known as John Lumsden Gordon Shirrefs. Marriage 1. to Elizabeth Cree The had sons William & John maybe more. Marriage 2. was Elspet spring They had two sons James Francis Gordon Shirrefs born 1898, born in Ellon I have no further record of this person, I would like to find out what happened to him. Ian L.V.Lumsden Gordon Shirrefs (this was my husbands grandfather) born in Hastings. The shirrefs name was dropped and the surname Lumsden-Gordon was adopted soon after birth.
