Hi, I'm looking for any relatives of JOHN MILLAR or MILLER born 1893 in New York, USA when he was called John JOHNSTONE. HE settled in Scottish Borders and died in 1952. He had siblings called Mary or May, Margaret, Joseph, James and possibly Alexander. He was born John Johnston and took on his step fathers name in 1901 when his mother (Margaret (nee Short) Johnston) remarried JAmes Millar.I think one sister married Hugh Ferguson and another Mr Grossart. His mother Margaret Short was born in 1861 near Ancrum, Jedburgh. John Millar was married to Elizabeth Marshall Renwick Millar and had 5 children: Elizabeth, Robert, John (Jack) Margaret and Alexander. Any information would be much appreciated. Alison |
