Hello, I'm a descentant of a James Eaton who was the steward to the Duke of Rutland his son Thomas Eaton was a surgeon with a practice in Grantham he died at Stamford in 1874, a good place to look for the history of Eatons in that area is to visit Knipton church.

Hello, I'm researching Eatons especially the branch around Friskney.
Although Iwas born in Newark I'm not sure where Wilsford is in relationship to Friskney. My grandmother Mary Eaton was born in Scotland but her father was the son of Joseph Eaton born Friskney or at least that is what the 1861 Census states.
I would like to know a little more re your side of the Eatons.
My grandmother had only one brother Charles Edward born Tuxford 1801 and founder of Chas E Eaton's Tobacconist & Newspapers in Grantham.

I`am researching Eatons in particular the descendents of William born in 1819 in Wilsford, Lincolnshire & he married Jane Nichols who was born 17/4/1823 on the 3/4/1843 in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England they then immigrated to Australia in about 1852-3, then finally settling in Grafton NSW, Australia in 1861, I would like to get in touch with anyone who is researching this family, to share information. Johanna Eaton who married John Michael McHenry are my husbands grandparents. Cheers for now Pat
