hello Tanya,i think we have the information you want.Your grandfather was christened John Charles Trafford,in the first quarter of 1919 in Ormskirk Lancashire.He was the son of Jane Trafford ,he took his mothers maiden name as there is no official record of his father.Uncle Jack as i called him was brought up by his mothers family,and he lived in Ormskirk until the outbreak of the 2nd world war.Before he was called up for service he had trained as a brick layer.During the closing stages of the war he was wounded and discharged in early 1945.for a short period he stayed with our family,shortly after he married i think his wifes name was Irene,they then moved to Shoreditch in London.He kept in touch with our family and said he had a son called Ian who must be about 60 now.The last message we had from him was when his mother died ,which was in the early 1950's.In October 1969 we were told he had died,and we went to his funeral in Stevenage.I Hope this helps you,I can give you more information if you need it.

I am trying to find any information I can about the Trafford side of my family. My grandfather born in Ormskirk Lancs 1919 died in 1969 in Hertfordshire. I think after meeting my grandmother in the war he may have lived in London before going to Stevenage in Herts . I believe his parents were Charles Trafford and Jane Trafford but don't have any more information than that. Any help would be much appreciated. Tanya
