I found a Joan Simons in Canada who told me her grandfather moved from the UK to there at about the right dates. could just be a stab in the dark? Aparantly he was a printer if that helps.

I'm trying to find descendants of Jemima Simons born Tendring, Essex. c;1851. She was a servant at Mill House, Tendring with her husband-to-be, John Childs in 1881, but I can not trace her before that. They had 3 children; Harold -possibly went to Canada, Annie- went to Australia, & Agnes, my g'mother.
