my grandmother was annie beatrice gee,her parents were john gee and martha brookes.John was the porter at newton le willows railway station on the 1881 census.Annie married george henry hancock vernon,we think he may have changed his name from something else, but do any of those names ring a bell with you. John & Martha Vernon from Knutsford, Cheshire who had a daughter Elizabeth born 1792. Is John Vernon an uncle of William Vernon who married Esther Massey? William Vernon was born in Newton le Willows. Any info on John or William would be much appreciated. |
