I am trying to find out were my grt grandfather Edwin Simkins born. Abt. 1857 was born, and anybody who is connected in any way. He was married to my grt grandmother Charlotte Goodwin born. 1858 in Paddington. They had my grandfather Richard James Simkins on 24 January 1891 at 6 Gee Street, London, NW1. Richard's birth certificate had his name as Simpkin but he went all his life as Simkins and his family are the same in censuses.

Hi Gregory

I have been looking at your details for Edwin.

I found a Edwin and family in 1871 census living at 15 Bell Street Marylebone.

What I find interesting is that at 53 Bell Street was a Simkins family that is connected to my family.

They were there in 1861 and 1871.

I also found that although the name is Simkins, that it may be spelt with a P this being the case on a few bth entries I got.

I cannot find any connection to yours however as they were in the same road Im thinking there could be.

Mine were Henry Simkins bn Hertfordshire married to Mary also 5 children.

Regards Mark
