Hi I am trying to trace the history of my mother. She was born Ruth Alice,to Thomas William Newson and Ellen Newson nee Packham. Address I have for them is Acacia Terrace Abbey Grove Plumstead. I have a copy of my mothers birth certificate she was born 16/08/06 and registered in Plumstead, London So far all I am getting from genealogy sites are totaly differant names for her parents, like it keeps coming up with Frederick Grant Newson as my mum's dad and Alice Maria Brunton as her dad. Oh the birth certificate states Thomas William's occupation as 'carman at powder works'. My mother went on to marry Walter Edward Thomas Fowler, [do not know date of wedding,] then had three children- Rita Margery Mary 1939ish, Alan Edward Thomas about 1942, and Ruth Helen 1945. I do hope someone can make sense of this and be able to help as I dearly need it. Ruth My email address is_: [email protected]

Have you checked for the deaths of Thomas & Ellen? They may have died and the children have been brought up by Frederick and Alice. This quite often happened in those days, my grandfather was brought up by his father's sister after his parents died.
