Trying to find Holland

My Great Uncle was George H. ( Henry?) Holland born 1882 in Rotherham Yorks. He was a miner at Treeton Colliery where he had the nickname Nudger Holland as he was strong enough to nudge a loaded coal truck and push it down the underground rails! He also appeared as a 'Strong Man' in Music Halls - I have a photo of him wearing a black leotard and showing off his muscles in classic pose! He then became baggage handler for the well known music hall artiste Florrie Ford. I don't think he married but can find no definite marriage or death cert for him, as I have no idea where he actually lived whilst on the music hall circuit - presumably in the first part of the 1900's. Does anyone know anything about the music halls- probably mainly in the North - I would love to find out about his career there? Many thanks - any help gratefully accepted. Sue |
