Trying to find Hickmott

Hi I have just started to try and trace my husbands family tree. All I know at the moment is his Father was born in Hastings and he was called Frank Henry Richard, his mother was Violet Edith May Beeching she would have been born around the Rye area. Any help would much appricated. Regards Chris.

Hello Christine! I've only just found your GR Hickmott thread: your message here is very interesting!
My grandfather's cousin Alfred Francis Mortley married 1910 Bessie Beeching in Old Romney. On his death cert, 1951, Lydd, the witness was daughter Gladys Hick/Hitchmott. She was registered b1911as Laura Gladys (so long as this is the same sister -think so.)
Alfred's 3 sisters lived in Hastings.
What a coincidence of names - can you see any connection in your info?
