I have some Hilldred's on my tree. The father Nathaniel was born in Alford, Lincolshire in 1750 and married an Eleanor Draby from Spilsby in Lincoln. They had the following children, all born in Spilsby: John born 1771 died 1772, Ann born 1773, Mary born 1774, John born 1776, Thomas born1782 and Alexander born 1786. You could try spelling the surname with two L's. Maybe your William is a decendent of one of these.

hi I am searching for a William Hildred born in 1817 in Lincolnshire. My grandmother is Mary Hildred b. 1925 - she had 7 siblings: Margaret b.1915 d. 1915; Percy b.1916; Margaret b.1917; Robert b.1918; Eric b. 1920; Gordon b. 1923 and Ronnie b.1926. They were all born in Halifax in Yorkshire. Their father was Percy Hildred b. 1892. He had 6 Siblings: Harry b 1892 (twin); Margaret b. 1878; Edith b.1880, William b. 1883; Eliza b. 1884 and Annie b.1894. They were also born in Halifax in Yorkshire. Their father was William Hildred b.1858 In Lincolnshire (the town is variously transcribed as Stickney, Stickeng and Sticker) with 3 siblings: Hannah b.1844; Lucy b.1850; Martha b. 1855. Their father was also William Hildred born c.1817 in Lincolnshire and this is where I get stuck. I have found 2 possible William Hildreds, neither of who are present consistently in the census records. One born in 1818 in Spilsby and on born in 1815 in Partney.
