Hi We are looking for any info on the Crane family, we have a christening cup from David Crane Alford born Fleetwood Lancashire 1868. We can trace right back to Samuel Crane 1657 Chorley Lancs died Sept 1698, any info for the area of Preston, Salhouse Norfolk. Regards Nichola and Kathleen

You are about to confuse the Norfolk ine of Cranes with the Preston line. I am from the Norfolk line, but one of the Preston Cranes lived (preacher) in Norwich and produced a son and daughter whilst there. The son went to Bury St Edmunds to live/work, the daughter returned to Preston on the death of her mother in Norwich. The Preston line is well documented, just don't get into the Norfolk line by mistake. Regards, Judy Milne nee Crane
