Does anyone have info on James R Dobson(senior) born abt 1853 Liverpool. In the 1901 census he is living in Brighton with his wife Alma G. Dobson aged 45 born in Maidstone Kent. Son - James R. Dobson (junior) aged 21 born Brighton Son - Albert J. Dobson aged 18 born Brighton (my husbands grandfather ) Daughter - Ada F. Dobson aged 23 born Brighton. In the 1861 census when James (senior) was about 8 years old, he was at his grandmothers shop in Brighton on the night the census was taken. His grandmothers name was Elizabeth Cranstoun born abt 1808 Nk. Scotland (widow) Also at the same address that night was a Mary Dobson born abt 1845 born Brighton - (also a grandchild) Would appreciate any info on this family as I am researching my husbands family for him.

Hi! I am searching for a james dobson. He is born around 1888, and migrated to australia we think in the early 1900's. His father was either a james or a william. He is the missing link for us! He married a florence cotton and had i think 3 sons and I daughter. Any of this sound familiar?
