Yes, that birth will be what Margaret meant, Alviegal. Well found.

I had thought she meant a child with surname Campbell.

There is a tree on ancestry with this man on as well. His father also came from Renfrewshire and his grandfather was Gen Sir Archibald Campbell of Rannoch. Not to be confused with the man above.
His mother was Maria McDonald Campbell.

This is the only Inchinnan birth of an Archibald Campbell around that time - but different DOB, and no obvious Snodgrass or Blackwood connection:

I wonder where Margaret found the info about Archibald Campbell?

He's not with the Snodgrasses in 1841 or 1851 (nor later) - unless the transcriber has missed him out.

Censuses do show various Archibald Campbells born 1832 and thereabouts, in Renfrewshire, but no reason to think they had anything to do with the Snodgrasses.

For instance, there's this one, a coachman:

Margaret Report 25 Jan 2006 04:11

I am researching my family, name of Blackwood,& originating in Inchinnan Renfrewshire.looking back to the family of James Snodgrass & Janet White, they had 11 children, all born in Inchinnan. What puzzles me, there is an Archibald Campbell, born 16th dec, 1832 in the family ! The Blackwoods were loyal tennants of Lord Archibald Campbell, & their farms were Flourish Farm, & Bottom.Would there be anyone out there able to enlighten me about this Campbell please? Of course, there could have been a union of a couple from each family. I find it all so absorbing.I have, thanks to a cousin, some old photo's of Flourish Farm in 1904, & I beleive there is still a working farm there.Anyone knowing the slightest bit about either family, I would be very grateful to hear from.My family tree is on line, with Genesreunited,so feel free to look at. Regards,Margaret.
