Trying to find Grubey

Did you have any success looking for Rachel Grubey.

I have a distant relative with the same name but who was b. in about 1884 in Basford and who is the only Gruby with that forename to be found in the 1891 census.

I suspect that she is the person you are seeking. Let me know if you want such details as I have.

My g-grandmother was RACHEL GRUBEY born in 1880 she married a WILLIE SLACK in 1906 in MANSFIELD. She went on to have ten children - Rachel, Albert, Alfred, Howard, Gladys, Evelyn, William, Mary(moved to New Zealand), Ron (who moved to Australia born 1921) and ny grandmother Mavis (1924). Love to hear from anyone out there who knew anything about the GRUBEY family and whether they originated from Mansfield.
