Hi Heidi,

I have also been researching the Franklin expedition as I am told my gggrandfather John Godfrey was a member of the crew of one of the ships, but I don't know which one. I would be interested to know where you found the list of crew members from please as I have only been able to find stories so far. I am also a descendant of a William Johnson who was my grandfather and was a merchant seaman. I have no other info regarding either of them as of yet so would appreciate any help if you can.

Kind regards
Cheryl

Were your Johnson ancestors crew on John Franklin's ill fated expedition to find the North-west passage? If so I would be interested in any information you may have regarding this. I understand that there was a William Johnson aged 45, and a Thomas Johnson aged 28, both Petty Officers, Thomas was also Boatswain's Mate, and a Charles Johnson aged 28, Able seaman. They were all crew on the H.M.S Terror. I have been told that my great grand mother Frances Ellen Johnson's family, particularly her grand father Philip Johnson, had a connection with the expedition but have yet to find a Philip listed as crew. I would be grateful for any information.
