Crowther Family - Finsbury/Shoreditch/Bethnal Green, etc Am looking for ancestors/descendants/relatives of THOMAS JAMES CROWTHER - born c1795 in Finsbury (according to the 1861 census) - occupation silk dyer. (He may be the one christened December 1793 in St Leonards Shoreditch to Joseph and Martha Crowther). He had amongst other children, ELIZA AMELIA CROWTHER (married in 1849 to BEARE); Joseph born c1837 and John born c1838. In 1861 he was living in Bakers Arms Gardens, Bethnal Green. Anyone with Crowthers in these areas about this time - I would love to compare/share notes.

Hi,
You asked in 2005 about anyone with Crowthers in the Finsbury, Shoreditch area from 1795 onwards. I have a Johnathan CROWTHER from around this time who had amongst his sons George and John (Jack). George married Mary Ann FURSSEDONN in 1854. You may also come across daughters who married into the RANSOM, KILBY and EMBLETON families. Regards Graham Hudson
