I am trying to find 'Willie Gething' my father or fathers family from Leeds area, or his last resting place! He served with E. Yorks regiment in Palistine 1945-48, I have his medal and an army photo He moved to Rhodesia +-1954 and worked as a barman, he was also a talentent sign writer, he returned to the UK in +-1960. He was from a large family of brothers and sisters and I believe had a twin brother? in LEEDS area !!! He would be in his 70's if still alive, but sadly I believe he passed away (or that was what I was told as a little girl) in the 60's after a pub-brawl. his nickname for me was'Bunny' I would really like to know where and how he is, PLEASE!!! |

Hi Bernice, I have William Gethings' in my tree but this was not the preferred name. I was interested in the associations as I know the Gething males had a liking of the beer and carousing around. The fact that he was a good signwriter is interesting as I have found links which show that that the Gethings had this artistic ability. My immediate family were all very good penmen and my hobby was callighaphy |
