There are many families of Tindalls in Scarborough including mine.
We are not related as far I know but there was John Tindall's shipyard in Scarborough where ships were built for five generations into the 1800's
Also there were Tinall owned ships sailing from Scarborough. One member of the family became chairman of Lloyds Register of Shipping in the 1800's
I have traced my family back to the start of the 1800's.
This consists of two generations of joiners(Thomas and George),two generations of Master Mariners(Edward and John ,my grandfather)and my father Wilfred
This probably doesn't help you too much except to indicate the size of the task.
Best wishes
Paul Tindall
