HI Amanda, I am also looking for family from County donegla my grandmother Bridget was born in 17/06/1916 and her mother was also called Bridget on her birth cert it has no name for her father but on her wedding cert it has that her mover later married a Domonick ODonnell. I think from the storys my grandmother used to tell me she was the eldest of 17 not sure if we are looking for same family but thought i would drop you a message.

Hi Amanda

You might find some more information on the following website http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/%7Edonegal/gortbaps.htm
It contains the 1901 and 1911 census for Donegal along with burial details of all cemeteries and school records.

Good luck

Kieran

LOOKING FOR BOYLE'S DONEGAL My grandmother (Sarah Harvey Boyle) died on 8th October 1990. Her death certificate says that she was 82 years old which would mean that she was born in 1908. It also says that she was a spinster and occupation as a housekeeper. I know that my grandmother came to Scotland with my mother (also Sarah known as Sadie) around 1955/1956. My mother took ill and was placed in Smyllum orphanage in Lanark. My mother stayed there until she was ten years old, when she was placed with a family in Kennoway Fife. When my mother was around 15 years old my grandmother visited her and said that she was returning to Rannafast in order to take care of her brother John Boyle as he was sick. The information I have collected Charles and Bridget Boyle had 5 children - John, Annie, Rosie, Sarah and Bridget. John had no children and was never married and was deceased. Annie was in Dungloe. Rosie was in Renfrewshire in Scotland. I am unsure if this was the mother or whether there was a sister Bridget perhaps she may have passed away in childhood, not sure! I have since returned to Ireland to try and find out more information. I have now got my mothers baptismal certificate which shows her godparents as Edward Gillespie (I believe he is deceased) and Annie Gallagher (whom I met briefly), both of which were my grandmother's cousins. The certificate also shows that my mother was baptisied in St Mary's Annagry and the priest was 'M Harkin' (if I have made the writing out correctly). I also know of some other cousins Paddy and Kitty O'Donnell and a Jimmy O'Donnell.
