To begin at the beginning, we think our ggg-grandfather was born in Orkney. George Edward born c1790 . His son; George Thomas b.1811 Stepney, London . His son; Arthur b1849 Limehouse, Stepney, London and died 1919 Auckland, NZ. Married a Susannah Gibbs and was in the an Engineer in the Merchant Navy. His son; [My grandfather] George Arthur John b.1884 Auckland, NZ. I don't know if this helps your research at all but if it does I'd love to hear about it. Best regards, Jenny.

Thought to have come originally from Orkney during the late 1800's and Harriet Mainlaand married my great grand father James Cleat. They lived in Scotland around the Edinburgh Area. Anybody with information please contact me.
