Anyone researching the Speake name may be interested in contacting John D. Speake of Cambridge, who is doing the one-name study of Speake. My grandmother was Edith Mary Speake her father was Edward(or James Edward) Speake born 1855 died 1899 in Manchester he married Mary Ann Plain in 1884 and also had two sons George born 1888 and William born 1885, his father was also called Edward born approx 1816 as far as I can tell all lived in the Manchester area. |
