Hello Joe
I or should I say a relative of mine has established a link with John William Hesslewood. We even have some army records of his from Ancestory.co.uk. John William was the illegitimate son of Jane Moncaster, she also had an illegitimate daughter Violet. After marrying Thomas Hesslewood it appears John William took the Hesslewood name and distinguished himself in WW1.Thomas Hesslewood himself was illegitimate, born in Beverley workhouse in 1887. His mother was Hannah Hesslewood, the youngest daughter of John Hesslewood and Hannah Robson. I have lots more info on the Hesslewood family if you need anything else.

Hello. I am trying to find a definate link in my tree. I need to link John William Hesslewood to Jane Muncaster(Moncaster). John was born out of wed lock in 1898 and I no from talking to my family that the name Muncaster was his mothers maiden name. The Jane I have found Married Thomas Hesslewood 29 December 1900 at Rosedale Yorkshire. She had Three sisters Sarah married Joseph Harrison 13 December 1890, Elizabeth married Walter Flintoft 3 Febuary 1894, all were married in the parish of Rosedale Yorkshire. and Mary who was a domestic servant born about 1877. Her father was Robert Muncaster an Ironstone miner Born 1839 and mother Hannah born 1841 but is not mentioned on the church records. I think that at the time of the marridges she had passed away. I can work out all the dates of birth so if any one thinks they can help me please get in touch...
