I am trying to find any information in respect of a McGARRY (may be McGARRIE) family of WHITEHAVEN, CUMBERLAND. JAMES MCGARRY (born either 1876 (per marriage cert) or 1871 (per death cert) married Isabella Cairns in Fife, Scotland in 1912. He was the a Stoker in a shipping vessel). His parents were JOHN MCGARRY and ANN HENDERSON although - other than he was English - I had no further details. I today found a Newspaper Marriage notice which advised he was "the eldest son of JOHN MCGARRY, WHITEHAVEN, CUMBERLAND" - now deceased). Does anyone have McGARRY links for Whitehaven?

I have Elizabeth Jane McGarry 1871 born Whithaven and her father William McGarry on a marriage cert. She married Robert Wilson Topping in 1896. Do these names mean anything to you?
